True to its Polynesian roots, Motu's taste profile boasts of rich, sweet flavors native to the South Pacific.
We use the finest natural ingredients for our unique rum, including rare sugar cane molasses from the islands of Polynesia.
The sugar cane molasses begins to ferment. Once the fermentation process is over, the distillation process can begin.
Hot water and yeast are added to the fermented molasses and heated to high temperatures to create raw rum.
The raw rum is transported to our distillery on Treasure Island and rested in Limousine French Oak casks, the same as Cognac, until the rum has retained robust flavors of the barrel. This removes the harsh aftertaste found in unaged rum and replaces it with round notes of oak.
Once the rum receives approval from our Master Distiller, Motu is carefully hand bottled into the Polynesian-themed bottle.
